How to Design Radiant Heating Systems with LoopCAD 2022
If you are looking for a software that can help you create professional quality circuit layout drawings for radiant heating systems, you might want to check out LoopCAD 2022. LoopCAD 2022 is the latest version of the popular software that offers advanced design features such as integrated heating and cooling load calculations, detailed hydronic calculations, snowmelt design, 3D CAD views, and compatibility with OEM design methods and materials.
In this article, we will show you how to use LoopCAD 2022 to design radiant heating systems for your projects. We will cover the following topics:
How to create floorplan drawings using predefined rooms, doors, windows and other objects
How to import existing AutoCAD*, PDF** or scanned drawings to use as a template
How to generate circuits automatically or manually for the rooms in your project
How to perform heat loss calculations using ASHRAE, CSA or ACCA-Approved Manual J methods
How to view and edit your design in 3D mode
How to generate reports and materials lists based on your design
Let's get started!

How to create floorplan drawings
Creating floorplan drawings is very fast and easy with LoopCAD 2022. You can use the predefined rooms, doors, windows and other objects from the library to draw your floorplan. You can resize the rooms by dragging the walls or corners, and they will automatically dock together to create complex floor plans. You can also edit the room shapes to create custom geometries, or use the freehand drawing tools to create more complex shapes.
To create a floorplan drawing, follow these steps:
Open LoopCAD 2022 and click on New Project.
Enter the project information such as name, location, client, etc.
Select the floorplan drawing option from the toolbar.
Select the room type from the library and drag it onto the drawing area.
Resize and position the room as desired.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 for other rooms in your project.
Add doors, windows and other objects from the library as needed.
Edit the room properties such as name, area, heat loss method, etc.
You can also import an existing AutoCAD*, PDF** or scanned drawing to use as a template for your floorplan. To do this, click on Import Drawing from the toolbar and select the file you want to import. You can then trace over the imported drawing using the drawing tools in LoopCAD 2022.
How to generate circuits
LoopCAD 2022 can automatically generate circuits for the rooms in your project based on your settings. You can also draw circuits manually using the freehand circuit tools. LoopCAD 2022 supports various pattern types, rotation options, tube spacing options and circuit length limits. You can also design around obstructions such as stairs, cabinets or kitchen islands.
To generate circuits automatically, follow these steps:
Select the circuit drawing option from the toolbar.
Select a room in your floorplan drawing.
Drag a Circuit Entry object from the library onto the drawing area where you want the circuits to start.
LoopCAD 2022 will automatically generate circuits for the selected room based on your settings.
Edit the circuit properties such as pattern type, rotation, tube spacing, etc. if needed.
Repeat steps 2 to 5 for other rooms in your project.
To draw circuits manually, follow these steps:
Select the circuit drawing option from the toolbar.
Select a room in your floorplan drawing.
Select a freehand circuit tool from the toolbar such as Straight Line or Arc.
Click on the drawing area where you want to start your circuit.
Click on another point where you want to end your segment.
Continue clicking on points until you complete your circuit.
Edit the circuit properties such as tube spacing, flow direction 0efd9a6b88
